Tarmac and concrete surfaces are very brittle, an over time weakens with use and will eventually crack and crumble. A resin surface is strong and is built to last. Tarmac also fades from black to grey and begin to look dated and weathered over time.

What is Resin Bound?

Resin Bound is a single layered material which is mixed with a bespoke resin and then hand applied and trowelled to a smooth compacted finish. Ideal for pedestrian use and vehicular traffic, it is incredibly durable and hardwearing. It’s eco-friendly as it is permeable meaning that water simply drains through the surface back to the natural water table. It is a stunning surface available in a range of aggregates and colours from natural gravels, crushed rock and marble to recycled glass. Its design capabilities are probably to most flexible out of all of the surfaces allowing for incredible designs, emblems and logos to be created. The result is an extremely hard-wearing surface, suitable for indoor use as well as external use, that is almost entirely resistant to weeds and low-maintenance. The only downside is that is can be expensive as it is said to be the most durable and long lasting surface.

How Do I Keep My Resin Surface Clean?

A resin surface can be cleaned with a pressure washer or with soapy water. Bonded resin surfaces are more stain resistant too which means less to clean in the first place. Unlike with tarmac or concrete which require strong chemical cleaners to clean away dirt and stains.

Do All Companies Use The Same Resin And Stone Mix?

No. Most conratctors will use between 4% and 6.5% resin to stone ratio/ We use a ratio of 7.0% resin. This ensures our surface is significantly stronger than most competitors.

What groundworks and preparation do we need to undertake?

When laying resin over an existing surface, preparation is key to a permanent and quality finish.

It is essential that new sub-bases are laid correctly and to specification to warrant a guarantee, so we carry out all groundworks and preparation ourselves so you don’t need to do a thing.

From widening your drive to full site excavation, here at Rhino Resin Driveways we have the knowledge and the experience to carry out all our own groundworks to the manufacturer’s specification.
